Women to serve on US frontline
Washington: Women will be able to serve in frontline combat positions in the United States military, including commando roles previously reserved for men, Pentagon officials said. Army Rangers and Navy SEALs are among special-operations units considering inducting women. The move signals the next step toward implementing the policy change announced by then defence secretary Leon Panetta on January 24. It could mean as many as 237,000 combat positions would be open to women by January 2016.
