In this climate Australians lead, Americans lag behind
Climate change may be on the boil again in Australia but it remains on the backburner in the US. The Rudd Government insists that the Senate must vote again on its carbon pollution reduction scheme before next month's Copenhagen summit. Barack Obama talked up the fight against climate change in Asia this week but the US Senate will not even begin considering America's version of such a scheme until well into next year.
