REPORTS of Aaron Henneman's footballing demise have been exaggerated. For now.Two weeks after announcing it had axed the defender after eight seasons at Essendon, the club yesterday reserved the right to change its mind, not including him on the list of four delisted players it lodged with the AFL.While Henneman may yet be delisted by a second list deadline on November 17, and probably will, the decision indicates the Bombers do not have great faith in landing a big enough fish at the pre-season draft in December.Essendon's chief operating officer, Travis Auld, said yesterday Henneman had been retained pending further assessment of what was on offer in the pre-season draft pool. "Aaron was made aware that this would be the process following the conclusion of the season," he said. The Bombers officially cut Joel Reynolds, Tristan Cartledge and Austin Lucy yesterday, as well as Adam Ramanauskas and rookies Ben Jolley, Tim O'Keefe and Matthew Firman.Dean Rioli's retirement and Dean Solomon's move to Fremantle mean they have six picks available for use in the national and pre-season drafts. The club is still awaiting AFL advice on whether Ramanauskas, who continues to have chemotherapy treatment, can be listed as a mature-aged rookie.Essendon also confirmed that Adam McPhee had signed a three-year deal, the 24-year-old declaring himself injury-free. Collingwood yesterday confirmed that only one Cloke - Travis - would be on its list in 2007, after Jason and Cameron were cut.Their father, former champion David Cloke, said both brothers were told last Friday that they were gone, but he was hopeful both would find opportunities at other clubs next season. The Kangaroos were linked with Cameron during trade week, and David said Jason had also attracted some interest."This is not the end of it. The boys are training, they haven't stopped since the season finished and we think there will be something out there for both of them," he said. "There have been a few inquiries made about both boys. Nothing's been finalised, but they've both shown that they can play at that level and they're fit and keen to get another chance at it."Carlton cleared an eighth place on its list in preparation for next month's "super-draft" and decided against devoting a third-round pick to Jake Williams, the son of Greg, or Wayne Johnston's son Tomi. Both have been invited to train with the Blues should they go undrafted next month, while Ken Sheldon's son Sam decided to spend another season in the under 18s.Justin Davies was delisted, joining the retired Barnaby French and Callum Chambers, Luke Livingston, Troy Longmuir, Cory McGrath, Ian Prendergast and Trent Sporn on the exit list.West Coast upgraded premiership forward Steven Armstrong from its rookie to senior list, along with Sandover medallist Matt Priddis.Damien Adkins was cut along with Travis Gaspar and Brad Smith, who has had two knee reconstructions since being drafted in 2004.Melbourne elevated Matthew Warnock and Adem Yze was placed on the veterans list.Port Adelaide yesterday confirmed that premiership player Stuart Dew was taking some time out to consider his future. He has not yet decided whether he will play on in 2007.EVERY CLUB: ALL THE INS AND OUTSADELAIDEIN: noneOUT: Matthew Clarke (retired); Ben Hart,Chad Gibson, AlanObst, Hayden Skipworth (delisted)BRISBANE LIONSIN: Scott Harding,Jason Roe, Cheynee Stiller (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Jason Akermanis (traded toWestern Bulldogs); Justin Leppitsch, Mal Michael, Brad Scott (retired); Jayden Attard, Clark Keating (delisted)CARLTONIN: Craig Flint (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Barnaby French (retired); Callum Chambers, Justin Davies, Luke Livingston, Troy Longmuir, Cory McGrath, Ian Prendergast, Trent Sporn (delisted)COLLINGWOODIN: Paul Medhurst (trade from Fremantle); Shannon Cox, Harry O'Brien, Alan Toovey (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Chris Tarrant (traded to Fremantle); Blake Caracella, Chad Morrison (retired); Cameron Cloke, Jason Cloke, David Fanning, Brent Hall, Adam Iacobucci, Julian Rowe (delisted)ESSENDONIN: noneOUT: Dean Solomon (traded to Fremantle); Dean Rioli (retired); Tristan Cartledge, Austin Lucy, Adam Ramanauskas, Joel Reynolds (delisted)FREMANTLEIN: Dean Solomon (trade from Essendon), Chris Tarrant (trade from Collingwood); Paul Duffield (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Paul Medhurst (traded to Collingwood), Graham Polak (traded to Richmond); Jarrad Schofield (retired); Benet Copping, Daniel Haines, Michael Warren (delisted)GEELONGIN: Tom Hawkins (father/son); Sam Hunt (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Peter Riccardi (retired); Kent Kingsley, Paul Koulouriotis, Matthew McCarthy (delisted)HAWTHORNIN: Josh Kennedy (father/son); Stephen Gilham, Ben McGlynn (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Peter Everitt (traded to Sydney); John Barker (retired); Matthew Ball, Luke Brennan, Harry Miller, Nick Ries, Josh Thurgood (delisted)KANGAROOSIN: Ed Lower, Scott McMahon, Djaran Whyman (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Jade Rawlings, Saverio Rocca (retired); Chad Jones, Troy Makepeace, Mark Powell, Cameron Thurley (delisted)MELBOURNEIN: Matthew Warnock (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Alistair Nicholson (retired); Shannon Motlop, Phillip Read, Nicholas Smith (delisted)PORT ADELAIDEIN: Greg Bentley, Tom Logan (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Josh Francou, Adam Kingsley, Gavin Wanganeen, (retired); Matthew Bishop, Ben Eckermann, James Ezard, Aaron Shattock, PeterWalsh, Elijah Ware (delisted)RICHMONDIN: Graham Polak (trade from FremantleOUT: Mark Chaffey, Greg Stafford (retired); AndrewKellaway, Dean Limbach, Thomas Roach, David Rodan (delisted)ST KILDAIN: Shane Birss (trade from Western Bulldogs), Michael Gardiner (trade from West Coast)OUT: Justin Peckett, Stephen Powell (retired); Cain Ackland, Matthew Ferguson, Mark McGough, Allan Murray (delisted)SYDNEYIN: Peter Everitt (trade from Hawthorn); Simon Phillips, Jonathan Simpkin (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Paul Chambers, Paul Williams (retired); Matthew Davis, Andrew Erickson, Earl Shaw, David Spriggs, Josh Willoughby (delisted)WEST COASTIN: Steven Armstrong, Matthew Priddis (promoted from rookie list)OUT: Michael Gardiner (traded to St Kilda), Andrew McDougall (traded to Western Bulldogs); Drew Banfield, Phillip Matera (retired); Damien Adkins, Travis Gaspar, Brad Smith (delisted)WESTERN BULLDOGSIN: Jason Akermanis (trade from Brisbane Lions), Andrew McDougall (trade from West Coast)OUT: Shane Birss (traded to St Kilda); Rohan Smith (retired); Keiren McGuinness, Adam Morgan, Brad Murphy, Jesse Wells (delisted)
